Saigon

Hello!

We are in the last phase of our trip!

Let's start with Nha Trang.

Nha Trang is a beach tourist town that is full of Russians. Very strange to see and hear lots of Russian language.

We decided against our original accommodation and it turned into a fun adventure where the students had to walk around the town and find a better place. We were recommended a hostel by a lovely waitress and we couldn't believe our luck. There was a lady called Jen who brought ginger tea to those feeling a bit under the weather and catered to our every want and need. It's always nice to find kind people.

In Nha Trang, we went to some mud baths and mineral pools then some of us also did a street tour with Jen from the hostel.

The next day we were off to Dalat. Managed to get a look at the beach in the morning. Sadly not enough time for a swim here.

After an eventful journey of swapping to another bus, we safely arrived in Dalat for New Years Eve. We were at another hostel and joined in with family dinner where the guests go to the kitchen and help with the meal. We were taught to roll spring rolls - Lachlan enjoyed creating spring squares.

For New Years, we put our glad rags back on and went out to the markets and to a free concert. Some of the boys got handshakes from the locals - maybe they thought they were celebrities in their suits!

New Years Day saw us beginning our trek in Chicken Village. Very warm weather compared to up north but we all battled through. We were well looked after by our guides and we enjoyed walking through the jungle and pine forests. Lots of uphill so it was a great challenge! This trek we walked with our big packs and stayed in tents.
